Favourite to take a medal due to her being one of only three women to throw over 20 m before the championships.In 2008 Adams broke the Oceania record in winning her first World Indoor Title in Valencia (20.19 m). At the Beijing Olympics, she qualified for the final with the longest distance thrown

    Hi Joshua,

    Thanks for posting such interesting information about Valeria Adams. She is a very talented shot putter and is likely to win a medal in Rio. I really hope that she does! Unfortunately, there is some question about whether she will, though, because she recently hurt her shoulder and has needed to have it repaired. I believe that she actually had to have surgery on it. Do you know for sure?
