I agree with Daniel, 2 years is a long time to visit South Africa! Will you miss all of your friends and family if you go? I like your reasons for wanting to explore a new country. Learning new things about their culture, and meeting new people along the way will be very exciting. After 2 years I imagine you'll know a few new languages too!
I hope some people will be able to join you on your trip. South Africa is an amazing country, so no doubt you guys will enjoy yourselves.
